With winter fast approaching here in New Zealand (I think we skipped autumn this year and went straight to winter!) and the urge to be snugged up in the craft room making cards, what better design than a winter themed birthday card.
First things first, we need to learn how to make an origami coat, that's where good old Youtube comes in handy. Click on the tutorial to learn how to make an origami coat.
These little coats are so fun to make! I went a little overboard making them |
We also need backing paper. I have use blue corrugated card cut to 9.5cm x 14cm
To really make the little coat stand out I've glued a heart shaped paper doily onto my blue corrugated backing paper and hot glued the little coat to it.
Now that the card is almost complete we just need to add the finishing touches. Every winter coat needs a good pair of heels to accompany it and a purse. I used a stencil from the Kluts Paper Fashion book to draw the shoes and purse and cut them out by hand.
If you don't have a stencil to trace a pair of heels you may want to use the template...(you will need to reduce it in size through your printer options)
Now that we have added our finishing touches, we need to add our sentiment. To make the "Warmest Wishes" sentiment I cut a rectangle of both sparkly foam card and 'wood look' paper. I used stamping letters to spell out my sentiment.
Send us your finished card pics and feature on our blog email us at kiwicardhouse@outlook.com
Happy Crafting
