Weekend Card Making Session

Hello there

It's a beautiful sunny winter day here in New Zealand today. Loving the cooler weather and enjoying the lovely blue skies with Mr Sunshine shining bright...best of both worlds indeed!

Yesterday I finally got around to getting stuck into my birthday gift from Mum ( 3 back issues of Make Cards magazine) oh what fun I had!

April 2019 Issue 18
I started with April 2019 Issue 18. I was pleased when I looked through this magazine to see the ' Under the Sea' nautical themed papers which are great for making cards for males, which I find I never seem to have enough of! I tend to make cards that lean more towards females... all girly and pretty and have been asked many times at markets and in my gift shop for male themed cards.

So, I started with 2 designs from the magazine, Best Fishes & Birthday Wishes which I really liked. I've made mine slightly different by adding gems and twine ribbon.

Best Fishes

Next I designed my own 'Under the Sea' card using orange as my base card and layering teal card over the top. To give the card a bit of extra detail I've used gold dot washi tape (I love washi tape)
Next I die cut two hearts and hand-cut two rectangles of patterned paper. The die cut hearts have been layered & glued onto the nautical themed rectangle and a gold heart sticker on the blue rectangle. I've them added a sentiment in the bottom right corner.

I had fun making these cards yesterday and hope to make a few more cards today after I've done my chores of course!

Make Cards Today magazine is always a treat to get as its full of wonderful goodies! Stamps, embossing folders, decoupage, papers and fabulous ideas! I still have many more cards to make from the April 2019 issue and another 2 issues to explore! Lucky its Queen's Birthday Weekend and I've got an extra day to craft!

Happy crafting
Shazza
